Center to cement Ethio-China ties

ADDIS ABABA– The inauguration of China Visa Application Center here in Addis takes the bilateral relation between Ethiopia and China to a new height, Chinese Ambassador to Ethiopia, Zhao Zhinyuan said. Opening the facility yesterday, Ambassador Zhinyuan said that the center will be a new driving force in bolstering the two countries’ cooperation by easing visa related difficulties.

China always attaches great importance to developing its bond with Ethiopia. The facility is thus established to make visa processing and issuance works easier, he added. “The center improves visa related work and helps provide better services to Ethiopian travelers. It would also offer service in Amharic language with reasonable fees for those visa service seekers who want an immediate service,” he noted.

The flow of people between the two  countries is rising time after time. And, the center would serve as a bridge for Ethiopia’s friendship with China by facilitating better service and communication. “The visa center is also an important step to boost economic cooperation, trade, and cultural exchanges. And, it would play a significant role in enhancing the ever-growing people-to-people relations between the two sisterly countries.”

China is the strongest development and largest trading partner of Ethiopia. The two countries are also enjoying a relationship market with mutual trust, and they share the aspiration of people-centered prosperity with a common destiny of all-round progress for people, said Ambassador Samuel, Director for the Asia-Pacific region at the MoFA of Ethiopia. In addition to enhancing public diplomacy, the center’s opening would significantly contribute to the two nations’ ongoing relations and cultural diplomacy, he added.
