ADDIS ABABA – In its twitter page, American-Ethiopian Public Affairs Committee (AEPAC) stated that members of Ethiopian Diasporas have planned to raise 1.5 million USD fund from Great Ethiopian Homecoming grand dinner on January 16, 2022 at Friendship Park.
AEPAC tweeted that the plan to raise the aforesaid fund during the grand fundraising dinner co- organized by Ethiopian Diaspora Agency (EDA), ECNAS, GETFACTet, AEPAC, and GLEANS.
The funds raised from this event will be donated to the Internally Displaced Peoples ( IDPs) that are affected by TPLF aggression and invasion, the committee added.
During the event, various seat options will be presented and levels of sponsor option are available based on the individual purchasing capacity.
The ticket is on sale in Eyezon Ethiopia.com for Diaspora communities and the entrance is 1,000 USD, committee stated.
At the event, Ethiopian brothers and sisters at home will be invited to celebrate its unity and resilience of the nation together with members of the Diaspora community, the committee noted.
It is to be recalled that Eyezon Ethiopia recently stated that it achieved to raise fund about 5 million USD with in six month from Diaspora community within two months.
More recently, the National Disaster Risk Management Commission (NDRMC) also announced that it has finalized preparations to allocate the three million USD donation collected from the Ethiopian Diaspora through EyezonEthiopia.com to rehabilitate 1.5 million internally displaced people (IDPs) in Amhara and Afar states.
