ADDIS ABABA- Accelerating inclusive education for refugee, returnees and host communities plays an important pathway towards the regional integration of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development(IGAD) member states and beyond, IGAD Executive Secretary Workneh Gebeyehu (Ph.D) said.
During the 3rd conference of IGAD Ministers in charge of education in Addis Ababa Workneh said that it is time where the region’s people stop armed engagements and start to search intellectual enlightenments.
As to him, IGAD witnesses the positive impacts of inclusive education towards the regional integration of IGAD and beyond.
Moreover, “The Djibouti Declaration” adopted in 2017 by IGAD ministers in charge of education immensely contributed to address equitable, quality, and inclusive education for forcibly displaced people, according to him.
Accordingly, IGAD avails various programs to facilitate inclusive education access effectivelyfor the refugees, returnees and host communities.
