ADDIS ABABA-The multifaceted relations between Ethiopia and United Arab Emirates (UAE) have created sustainable socio-economic partnership and brought about benefits to the people of both countries, said Suleman Dedefo , Ethiopian Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to the UA E .
Ambassador Suleman told local media that the two sisterly countries bilateral relations are growing stronger and stronger from time to time. As to him, strong mutual cooperation between Ethiopia and UAE has enabled creating strong market partnerships.
“The two countries share various mutual agendas including; political, economic, and regional issues as both of them are located in the Middle East. Leading the regional agendas, discussing drawbacks, and improving the future together are what expected from the two countries,” he said.
He further said that the recent Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed’s visit to the UAE has showed the two countries’ ever growing ties .
Similarly , Government Comnunications Service (GCS) stated that the recent visit of Prime Minister Abiy’s working visit to Abu Dhabi is aimed to explore ways how to enhance ties between Ethiopia and UAE.
The GCS Minister Legesse Tulu (PhD) who was member of the high level delegation said that the leaders discussed areas of multifacted cooperation between the two countries in a way to ensure mutual benefit.
The relationship between Ethiopia and UAE has been being transformed to a higher level in all rounded aspects, the Minister said, adding that UAE contributed a lot in assisting Ethiopia to overcome its trying times.
According to the Minister, during his discussion with Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme
Commander of the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces, Prime Minister Abiy expressed gratitude to UAE for its support in times of need. The crown prince congratulated the Premier and Ethiopians on restoration of peace in Ethiopia.
The two leaders agreed to transform the ties to strategic level cooperation, according to the Minister. Accordingly, the two countries’ cooperation areas are expanding and the leaders give special priority to ensure sustainable partnership and people-to-people ties.
