ADDIS ABABA –The Ethiopian government has been lately carrying out encouraging diplomatic activities with a view to bringing about sustainable peace and ensuring swift economic recovery, Economic Analysts said.
Economic Analyst Shiferaw Adilo (PhD) said that completing the conflict through peaceful way has a paramount importance for a sustainable peace building in turn help the efforts of recovering the economy.
“Now, the government is gaining upper hand over the terrorists. So it should strengthen the so far diplomatic gains in a bid to put the country on the right development track sooner than later.”
According to him, the government is expected to be more frank and candid to the general public and should inform every decision timely and reasonably.
“The U.S. administration has not officially changed its stance on current Ethiopia’s situation. Thus, the releasing of some members of TPLF should be taken as give and take. If not, it will end up with a protracted war.”
Economic Analyst Zelalem Teklu (PhD) for his part said that currently the government has been working on solving the age-long political challenges establishing national dialogue commission . However, he stressed that that government should let know the public the objective of the National dialogue commission via disseminating timely information .
Right now , terrorist TPLF is so desperate as its forces have been defeated by Ethiopian National Defense Forces (ENDF) and its allies. Therefore, the Westerners have no alternative rather than accepting the activities of the government, he added.
Zelalem said that terrorist TPLF has been committing various atrocities in Afar and Amhara states and its military adventures to expand the war into neighboring areas of these states was a plan to increase negotiating power but in vain.
