ADDIS ABABA- International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Ethiopia disclosed that it has delivered the second round urgently needed medical supplies including essential drugs to Tigray state, Ethiopia.
According to the ICRC twitter post, urgently needed medical supplies were delivered by flight for the second round Thursday. It is to be recalled that ICRC made its first delivery of medical supplies last September with the support of authorities.
Meanwhile, Government Communication Service (GCS) also stated that as a result of the TPLF renewed attacks on Aba’ala, the only humanitarian corridor in the Afar state, humanitarian convoys had stopped traveling to Tigray and even came back. This indicates that the terrorist group is still trying to use hunger as a political tool and tried to assume power at the expense of the entire Tigray population.
The fresh attack blocked the corridors for humanitarian aid route, but the reconstruction works are well underway and have shown progress in areas freed from TPLF control. In Amhara and Afar states, most public and social service providing institutions have commenced service provisions and the societies have started undertaking summer farming.
The regional governments have been working to avoid security threats in the areas apart from working to realize the society’s beneficiaries form sustainable development and good governance.
