Isreal supports Ethiopia’s government efforts to bring lasting peace

ADDIS ABABA- Ethiopia’s Ambassador in Israel, Reta Alemu had a meeting with Ambassador Ziv Vapini, the Foreign Policy Advisor to the President of Israel disclosed Ministry of Foreign Affairs on its official Facebook page.

The two sides discussed the current situation in Ethiopia and relations between the two countries. Ambassador Reta gave a briefing on the atrocities committed by the TPLF in the Afar and Amhara regions that killed and displaced many people besides destroying infrastructure.

He also detailed the latest encouraging measures taken by the government that demonstrated its commitment to bring lasting peace in the country adding in particular spoke on the establishment of the commission on national dialogue that intend to address critical issues in the country.

Ambassador Zivi said on his part that he was closely monitoring the situation in Ethiopia following the earlier meeting with the president of Israel, Isaac Herzog regarding Ethiopia’s situation. He further show gratitude Ambassador Reta for the detailed briefing, and expressed Israel’s commitment to support the government’s peace efforts in Ethiopia.

Meanwhile it is to be recalled that the terrorist TPLF has launched fresh attack on innocent civilians in Kilbeti Resu Zone, Afar state government announced in a statement. The statement said that the terrorist TPLF has encroached the state and is continuing attacks in Ab’ala and Magale woredas in Kilbeti zone of the region terrorizing civilians.

“The terrorist group, which has never been out of conspiracy, has been working day and night to make a profit by pitting the two peoples (The Afar and Tigrians) against each other. In its ongoing attacks, it is targeting Afar innocents and expanding its terrorist activities,” the statement says.
