About Us:

Semu Real Estate, a distinguished name in the real estate industry, is embarking on an exciting new venture in the coffee export business. We are dedicated to delivering the finest Ethiopian coffee to the global market. We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Chief Operations Officer (COO) or Operations Manager with a profound background in the coffee industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and oversee operational policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate closely with the CEO and senior executives, providing strategic insights to drive growth, profitability, and guide company direction.
  • Supervise day-to-day operations, making necessary adjustments to boost employee productivity and company performance.
  • Monitor operational costs and devise strategic solutions to maximize output while minimizing expenses.
  • Continually evaluate company performance, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing strategic solutions.
  • Foster and maintain relationships with partners and stakeholders, ensuring adherence to key performance indicators.
  • Implement rigorous risk management processes and conduct thorough audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Lead the execution of the company’s strategic objectives.
  • Cultivate a performance-driven culture through guidance, coaching, and mentoring of the management team and staff.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 12 years of managerial experience in a coffee exporting company.
  • Certification as a coffee cupper, preferably holding the title of Q Grader.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, coupled with a proven track record in leadership.
  • Demonstrated consistency in meeting and surpassing company targets.
  • Hold a degree in Agriculture or a related field, supplemented with a Master’s degree in Business Management.
  • In-depth knowledge of the diverse origins of Ethiopian coffee, along with a comprehensive understanding of the specialty coffee process from cherry to export.
  • Extensive expertise in commodity coffee and a demonstrated ability to construct predictive models.
