Job Description

We are looking for a Communications and Marketing officer who can administer marketing campaigns, write and review web content, coordinate promotions activities, liaise with internal staff and Members, and report on project performance surrounding communication and marketing efforts. This role performs various administrative and general operational duties in support of communications and marketing campaigns and programs within the Marketing and Communications Department.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with all management teams to develop and implement an effective communications strategy based on our strategic plan.
  • Write, edit, and distribute content, including publications, website content, annual reports, speeches, and other marketing material communicating the company’s activities.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with journalists and maintain a media database.
  • Seek opportunities to enhance the brand’s reputation and coordinate publicity events as required.
  • Create, coordinate, and execute communications and marketing material per Marketing and Communications Strategy.
  • Support the Marketing & Communications team in all aspects of the team’s work as required.
  • Develop, facilitate, and monitor awareness campaigns as required.
  • Identify digital trends and evaluate emerging technologies wherever possible.
  • Manage and maintain the company’s social media communications.
  • Contribution to creating a sustainable social media strategy for implementation across Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Telegram, and Instagram.
  • Use analytics to report on the results of digital campaigns, track monthly performance across channels, and inform future activity.
  • Internal communication for all employees on behalf of departments.
  • Event organization.
  • Conduct a brand audit for and ensure consistency across all platforms and communications.
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with all departments to identify their communication material needs and provide support in creating various communication templates.
  • Take on the role of supporting and guiding the team based on the instructions given by the manager.
  • Use analytics to report on the results of the content mapping and track performance per what happened during the content mapping effort across all channels and activities.
  • Other duties as required.

Job Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years relevant experience in a communications role, preferably someone who’s worked with a non-profit organization.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent in English and Amharic
  • Skills in graphic designing is an advantage.
  • Good time management and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, content management systems, and social media platforms.
