Job Description
The JDC, working in partnership with the Ministry of Economy and Industry, initiated the TOV – Tikkun Olam Ventures program,. The aim of the program is to connect Israeli agricultural technology in order to cope with the challenge of poverty and food shortages in the developing world, opening up markets to Israeli agricultural technology (agtech) companies, providing humanitarian aid and advancing the Israeli government’s vision of promoting Israeli innovation to meet the United Nations’ sustainable development goals (SDG).
The goal of the tender is to select a supplier or suppliers to provide professional management for the program in Ethiopia.
The services provided by the winning bidder will focus on three areas:
- Project management and implementation
- Market linkages and access to finance
- Agronomic and technological capacity building
The term of the contract shall be from the day of signing until the 31st of December 2025.
Job Requirements
Prerequisites
- The bidder must be a licensed dealer, a partnership, or a registered corporation in Israel or elsewhere.
- If the bidder is Israeli, must perform proper bookkeeping, in accordance with the Public Entities Transactions Law. Foreign bidders shall submit equivalent documentation issued by the country in which they were incorporated, which documents that they duly perform bookkeeping management according to law.
- Inasmuch as the bidder is an Israeli non-profit corporation (a public benefit corporation or an amuta – a non-profit association), it must possess a valid Proper Management Certificate from the Israel Corporations Authority (ICA) for 2023 (and it must possess a Proper Management Certificate for the duration of the contract).
- The bidder must be recognized as an entity authorized to provide services in Ethiopia (with a Tax Identification Number), and present one of the following documents:
- CSO certificate- Civil Society Organizations (for non-profit organizations)
- Business Certificate of Incorporation (for commercial organizations)
Professional prerequisites
- The bidder must have at least four years of experience in managing projects with a budget of at least $100,000, in one or more of the following areas (a partial bid must demonstrate experience in the relevant area):
- Project Management and Implementation
- Agronomic and technological capacity building
- Market linkages and access to finance
How to Apply
The same project can be presented in more than one area.
A joint bid can be submitted by a number of bidders, provided that all bidders jointly fulfill all of the prerequisites. The rest of the details and conditions in this regard are detailed in the tender documents.
