ADDIS ABABA– The 126th Anniversary of the Victory of Adwa will be marked in grand events in the capital Addis Ababa and across the country with renewed commitments to fight anti-peace elements by remembering the fallen heroes, Ethiopian Patriots Association disclosed.
The Association President Lij Daniel Jote said preparation has been finalized to mark the day that celebrates Ethiopians victory over the invading Italian forces on Wednesday March 02, 2022 in the attendance of high-level government officials.
On the day, different types of historical dresses and jewelry will be displayed by the youth who cherish the noble sacrifice their fathers and mothers paid to fend off invaders. Also, historic war songs will be presented with a view to inspiring the young generation to fight poverty and destructive forces that hamper the peace of the country. “The victory will promote Ethiopians’ commitment for independence which is fueled by the strong self-image of national pride, a love of freedom and human dignity we nurtured through a long history of nationhood.”
Lij Daniel called on all concerned bodies particularly state governments and city administrations to make the Victory Day eventful thereby enabling the international community to be aware of the patriots’ enormous sacrifice for freedom.
It was learnt that the Ministry of Culture and Sport have established a sub-committee for the lively conduct of the event.
