• Yasin Foundation to diagnose 30,000 Ethiopian with cataract problem

ADDIS ABABA – Pakistani Medical Team has provided Ethiopians who have cataract related challenges with free of charge medical services, said Yasin Foundation.
Founder and Owner of Yasin Foundation, Yasin Raj (Honorable Doctor) told the Ethiopian Press Agency (EPA) that the foundation is coordinating foreign volunteer medical teams to offer free ophthalmic services. Pakistani Medical Team who is offering free health care services is the result of Yasin Foundation diplomacy, and this is an indicator of Yasin Foundation’s effort of facilitating and communicating with Pakistani Ambassador to Ethiopia Shozab Abbas.
As to Yasin, the Foundation has planned to offer free medical services for 30, 000 Ethiopian citizens who have cataract related problems by facilitating foreign volunteer medical teams, and the Pakistani medical team is ready to diagnose 1,200 Ethiopians who have cataract problems.
Pakistani medical team has offered free medical diagnose for 405 Ethiopians in Worabe, 1,200 eye glass, and over 2,000 medicines. Similarly the treatment will be offered in Jima. In addition, March 17 and 18 free health care service will be given for 400 individuals who have cataract problem in Addis Ababa.
The team has consisted of 17 volunteer members in the fields of ophthalmic and others. They are sharing experiences with Ethiopian medical professionals in these specialty service areas, and have brought medical supply and equipment for treatments, he added.
Yasin coordinated foreign medical teams to serve over 700,000 Ethiopian and offer 200,000 eye glass for Ethiopians. Albasar Foundation and Yasin Foundation have offered free ophthalmic services over the last 23 years to half a million patients. Some 50,000 had cataract surgery and regained their sight. Yasin said that his foundation will continue to strengthen its effort to eliminate avoidable blindness in Ethiopian with other volunteers.
