ADDIS ABABA—Survivors and eye witness have attested that terrorist TPLF has committed horrific mass killings in Amhara state targeting ethnic Amharas, innocent civilians and farmers.
According to Channel 4 News , the terrorist forces have committed horrific killings in Amhara and Afar states as a revenge.
The horrific cycle of Killings and retaliation in Amhara state is recently exposed by the survivors as there are huge mass graves in almost all towns of the state like Robit town.
People in the area said that over hundred civilians are buried in the ground of one school which was used as terrorist TPLF military base. Nigus who lives nearby Robit area claims that the TPLF killed any young man they suspected of working against them.
“The fighters brought people day and night and killed people forcing them dig their own graves. At the day time, people were forced to dig their graves and they are shot and buried there at night, ” said eye witnesses.
Another resident in the area said that so many people who have no connection with any group have been killed as the terrorist group killed farmers, civilians though they were not soldiers, armed ones, they were just killed simply because they are ethnic Amharas. The community has been forced to prepare more grave areas for cemeteries.
Mola was mourning over the death of his brothers and two nephews. He said that he was with them last year when they were taken from their houses, and he thought they were just going to be questioned.
“The terrorist group took us to some other people, who were holding loaded weapons, then one of the guys started shooting at us and the first guy shot two of us. When they shot towards one of us, others started running and then they shot them too. When they shot my brother, I kneeled down to catch him and the other shot on my shoulder, they aimed at my chest but missed because I leaned down, and it was very difficult. Being there watching beloved ones death in person is very hard,” he said.
Mola’s sister Worke also arrived at the spot to find corpses of her brother, son and son- in-law. “I cried lying over their bodies and they said go back home or we will kill you too. I told them that I want to die and finish me, and continued crying over their bodies,” she added.
Zewditu, who lost her husband said, “When I took his body, the scene at the church was horrific. When we arrive at the church, it was filled with dead bodies, dead bodies are piled and 54 people were buried that day in just one hour at St. George’s alone.”
“The terrorist leftovers said the farmers were spies, but they knew nothing, I don’t know why they killed them. They said all Amharas are their sworn enemies that’s why I think they killed them. Similarly, TPLF executed hundreds of unarmed civilians in this town mainly daily laborers returning from work in September last year.
They put three heavy machine guns and killed many people. People were murdered in line, their hands are still covered with dirt, but they were shown no mercy,” said Gebremeskel one of the eyewitnesses.
