TPLF persecuting civilians in Afar using heavy artillery

ADDIS ABABA – The terrorist TPLF has continued its acts of genocide against north Afar civilians using heavy weapon, Afar Pastoralist Development Association (APDA) founder said.

Speaking to BBC World News, the founder and head of the association Yanna Maalika stated that the terrorist clique has continued its horrific acts over civilian population of the Afar State. The criminal faction has made repeated attempts to cut the road that connects Addis Ababa with the Port of Djibouti; however, the local militias  and civilian community have waged heavy resistance in the five districts of the state.

According to her, at this moment, no government force is seen in northern parts of the Afar State, but only Air Force drones have been providing support to the Afar side. But Tigray’s topography is mostly highland and the TPLF forces are armed with rockets and tanks which gives them an advantage over the Afar who are armed with only Kalashnikovs.

The head further noted that she was informed by a local truck driver that the terrorist enterprise killed numerous innocent women and children using heavy gunfire. Incidentally, the UN said recently, people in the TPLF invaded areas of Amhara and Afar states are seriously affected by food shortages.

It is to be recalled that the terrorist TPLF retreated from the invaded Amhara and Afar states after decisively defeated by the national army, states’ special forces and militias as well as other local forces.
